By taking the Divemaster course with us you will also obtain the Discover Scuba Diving Leader, two qualifications for the price of one.
During the course you will learn with us everything you need to help instructors and lead activities on your own.

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN IN DIVEMASTER TRAINING?


During the program Divemaster, you will learn diving leadership techniques through both classroom and independent study. You will perform in-water techniques and endurance exercises, as well as train with exercises that will increase your organizational and problem-solving skills as well as help others improve their diving.


You will put this knowledge into practice through a structured integration period or a series of practical training exercises.


As you progress through your Divemaster course, you will expand your diving knowledge, hone your diving techniques and increase your confidence. Then, as a Divemaster diver, you will use these attributes to

guide, advise and motivate other divers

and to enjoy the joy of seeing them transformed by the majesty of the aquatic world.

WHAT CAN YOU TEACH WHEN YOU BECOME A DIVEMASTER?


Once certified as Divemaster you will be authorized to:


  • Supervise both training and non-training activities by planning, organizing and directing dives.
  • Assist an instructor during training sessions of any diving course.

  • Lead the Skin Diver course and the Discover Snorkeling program.

  • Lead the Discover Local Diving experience.

  • Direct the Scuba Review program.

  • As you will also be a Discover Scuba Diving Leader, you will be able to independently lead the Discover Scuba Diving program.

  • Obtain the Digital Underwater Photographer Specialty Instructor level to be able to teach the Digital Underwater Photographer specialty.

  • Independently guide Open Water Diver course students on the walk-through portion of the Open Water Diver course during Training Dives 2, 3, and 4 at a ratio of two student divers per certified divemaster.

  • Accompany Open Water Diver students under the indirect supervision of a diving instructor during:
  • When swimming on the surface to and from entry/exit points and during navigation exercises or when the instructor is leading an exercise, such as an ascent or descent, a Divemaster may remain with the other student divers (either individually or with a buddy team).

  • Accompanying student divers during Adventure Dives or Specialty Training Dives under the indirect supervision of another instructor.

  • Direct Seal Team's AquaMission.

  • Direct subsequent dives of Discover Scuba Diving participants, under the indirect supervision of an instructor, after they have successfully completed their first dive with a certified instructor.

  • Teach Emergency First Response courses after completing the Emergency First Response Instructor course.

  • Compare at a glance what you can teach when you continue your professional diver training.

DIVING EQUIPMENT YOU WILL USE:

All basic diving equipment and some diving accessories such as a diving slate, diving knife, compass, diving watch, etc.

It is highly recommended that you be in possession of your own diving equipment, as familiarity with one's own equipment improves overall diving skills.

PREREQUISITES:


To take this course you must:


  • Have 18 years old of age
  • Be an Advanced Open Water Diver (or hold an equivalent certificate from another training organization)
  • Be a Rescue Diver (or hold an equivalent certificate from another training organization)
  • Have the course Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care (or be qualified in CPR and First Aid training from another training organization) completed within the last 24 months
  • Have at least 40 dives at the beginning the course and 60 upon certification
  • Be fit for diving and present a Medical Statement (PDF) signed by a physician within the last 12 months

The price of the Divemaster course with the Discover Scuba Diving Leader course included is 600€.
